It's quite a long time
since last sharing
of my Toastmasters Experience.
(The next month I will start to playback my past
and to share with you every single meeting that I attended)
and to share with you every single meeting that I attended)
yet
Today is different
because I would like to share with you eagerly
as this club meeting has its own charm
Yesterday
I decided to attend another Toastmasters Meeting
That was the third TM meeting that I go in this week.
Probably I couldn't stand my life
with the common tempo
Even though I may be alone
I still want to visit.
Sunway Toastmasters Club
if I am not mistaken
this year is their 25th anniversary
since the club had established
also one of the oldest club that I visited so far
When I reached the meeting venue,
after I greeted my friend
My eyes immediately saw
there were numbers of banners with different labels
"Advanced Speakers, You're On the Way to DTM"
"Let's Conquer CC!!"
&
Banner of Ribbons
most of the ribbons I noticed
were sewed
"Selected Distinguished Club"
You're able to see how the club been organized
how do the club officer cooperated
so the club can be awarded as Selected Distinguished Club
for so many times
Then the meeting started
everyone had seated and ready for their ears
to hear great speeches
(It is indeed awesome!!)
One things that fresh to me
was
the grammarian had his own gadget
a bell
if you dunno what did it work
you may thought was overtime for your speech.
but this bell,
acts a count for the Word of the Day.
It rings whenever the Word of the Day had been used.
(Mmm....Interesting)
Table Topics Session
as always
very creative presentation
(even bit cruel, by separating a doll XP)
and speeches were impromptu yet inspiring
What I liked the most was
the project speech session
This is where you can what kinds of speaker they do have in that club
One word came out from my mind
" PROFESSIONAL"
From the first two speaker who were doing their Ice Breaker speech
moving on to the Vocal Variety
then Persuade with Power
and lastly Inspire Your Audience speech.
They're all shown fully confidence on their face.
If I want tell what character they are,
the first speaker
named Choi Jia Herng
probably a wise man
who taught us to be determined
the second speaker,
named Hao Yun
was surely a humor master which brought us lots of humors
at the same time introduce himself
(you got my vote XP)
the third speaker,
named Wai Hong
must be a kungfu panda who just came back from NS
(that panda cap really spotted on)
to tell us never to be overconfident even though you're good in your own "kung fu"
the fourth speaker,
named Ai Bee
was a lecturer who advise us that
to have a good health is wealth
(I knew what you felt there when doing CC#9, since I redone mine recently.)
and the last one
named Nathalia
was a female warrior like Mulan
who stood up again from the past and "fight" confidently and inspire the audience.
( I got some tips from you and would try to implement into mine
then deliver soon)
Even though there were some minor flaws in between the speeches,
but their words and minds were delivered clearly
and to be remembered for the future.
Evaluations,
the only thing I would say was
I learnt a lot....
Really learnt a lot in the sense that
these suggestion could refine our speech techniques
at the same time
even we were not the speakers
Lastly,
I liked the moment when their members
putting on their stars on the banners that mentioned earlier
you can see the joy from their faces
That had the sense of achievement and encouragement
(I also wished I have my own star)
This visit had given me some culture shock
and elevated my knowledge of Toastmasters to the next level.
I would like to plan my next visit in the future
as
there are something there that worth for discovery
