December To Remember - Toastmasters Meeting (Special Occasion) 3

Since is December,
also don't forget about one of the most important festivals of the year
Christmas!!!

Therefore
I going to share with you
how to celebrate Christmas
in TM's way.

The Toastmaster Christmas themed Meeting that I went
was
orgranized by both
Sunway TMC and Subang TMC.
THEME : Christmas
TIME : 7:30 pm
VENUE : REAL Education Group Building, Subang Jaya

I came to the venue kinda early,
along with my friends,
Desmond and Yuen Ying.
The place was not even opened
after the person who in charge came.
We work together to set up the venue,
( maybe the job of SAA already in my DNA, hehe XP)

Again,
Another great meeting place had discovered
And took some of the photo
They have huge space,
Small pantry,
Stage
Whiteboard and also plugs
(From the floor to the ceiling, literally)

What makes me unforgettable about this meeting
is the gift exchange session
and the feast.
First served with various of Domino's pizzas
followed by a HUGE Turkey.
(Oo-la-la..., check out that huge turkey that all of us had)

The atmosphere there was exact the Christmas that foreign people had.
I was so astounded by their generosity and spirit of Christmas
even though I didn't prepare some gifts at the first time.

 During the meeting,
again
I tried a table topics,
because first for preparation of contest,
second have to be always in best condition in term of speaking.

Furthermore,
there are some funny moments as
I supposed to talk about what are the items I will take if tomorrow is doomsday
in the end,
my face had frozen and my evaluator said
try to use more appropriate expression  to describe.
That's kinda fun.

At the same time,
I witnessed some of the good speakers in the project speech session.
There is guy who introduced himself through ice breaking
Some quoted from William Shakespeare's poem
"Life's Brief Candle"
Also someone who encouraged us to donate our organ
as a gift of life to the people who needed.
And ended with a gratitude toast
to an Iron Lady who worked hard in an event.

That's concluded my Christmas Version of Toastmasters Meeting.
Can't wait for the next Special Occassion Meeting.

What will college student eat? - Burger

One of the main food that college student eat is
BURGER

Before studying in college,
I kinda seldom to eat burger
except my mom bought it for supper

Yet, when I studying in Taylor's College
I realized that
for us
Burger is not just a fast food.
but some sort of culture you can see among college student
You asked every single college students,
they sure answer
they had at least 20 burgers per year
Make sense?

Recently,
lots of people started to be involved in this burger industry
and open various of shops to stand themselves out
I am gonna introduce you some of the burger shops around in SS15.
(Of course not need to further mention about McDonald's,
I am pretty sure all of us what do they sell right?)

First of all,
"CRAYON Burger Shop"

The interior design is more likely simple white as the base with strong contrast colours.

They burger buns are colourful with some sesame on the top.

The meat was thick and juicy until it is been squeezed out from the burger
Served with normal fries
That mustard sauce was my favourite on this shop
and one of common trends for this kind burger shop
is
unlimited refill SOFT DRINK

What makes crayon burger so special
was
there is a wall which coated with blackboard paint
so it acted as a huge board for customer to write down their visits.

Next,
I am going to recommend another stunning burger shop in SS15
"Big Hug Burger"
It was opened by a gentle woman who used to work hard in her previous job
because of stress
she decided to quit her job and open this shop.
At least she had more time to spare.

What catches my attention in Big Hug
is the decoration inside the shop.
It feels warm and casual
like in your own house
with some of the craft works
such as this wooden furniture,
and shelf filled with displays

It also brings out some of the USA style
like living somewhere in Texas.
(Cowboy!!! YeeHaaa....)

I still remember what I ordered is a
Honolulu Burger
That's my first time eating burger which included pineapple slice.
The sweetness and moisture of pineapple
was perfectly matched with other components.

One of the recommendations is the
JUMBO SIZE BIG HUG BURGER
unfortunately neither me nor my classmates tried yet
So,
you guys going to find out by yourself
The size that burger was enormous.

Lastly,
the final shop I would like to share with you is
"Burgertory"
The restaurant's design seem more towards on creative art workshop.
As you can see some typical table lamps become wall lamps
Wooden tables surrounds with metal rods

There is also a section which like bar with high heel chairs.
That was the history of the shopkeeper from nothing to the shop had built
by him and his team.

Well,
it is seldom to see a burger set served with fruit salads.
but you know what,
when you ate such high calories and fatty food,
you always need something acidic and cool
that's when the apple salad comes in.

My friend ordered another set of burger with
combination of onions rings and hashbrown
(if not mistaken)

One of favourite part in this shop,
was their fries.
Sometimes fries is pretty important besides acting as side dish
if the fries was unseasoned and moist without crispy
that makes me no appetite
They did kinda great job on the seasoning,
I like it more than McDonald's

I shared with you guys those fine burger shop
go for a try after seeing this post.
Although they are stunning,
make sure you have it not more than once per week
as everyone knows
excess fast food cause
obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes and so forth.

However,
it is for sure at least once in a month you will having these kind of food.
I would like to say,
EAT WELL AND SMART.

College Student's Review - Hostel Experience in SS15

Before you go into college
and have a great adventure
one thing that all the students MUST DO
"FINDING A HOSTEL"

How important that to find the ideal hostel
which low cost with high quality facilities
or fair price with corresponding facilities

I was the example that one
do not research about it
and straightly rent directly with one of the hostel management.
Then I ended up with
high cost with low quality facilities

Three things that I think is very crucial
to let your hostel experience to be great
The Room

The Fridge

The Roommates

I put the room as the first factor
if the room had any flaws
it will ruin for your whole hostel life

If you're the person who likes to make new friends
and open-minded
you can rent for a shared bedroom
whereas
if you wish to have your personal space and no one to disturbs you
recommended single bedroom.

* Make sure that the room size is on human's scale UNLESS your room rental is very low.

Fridge
is also important as it is one of the storage for your food
First thing you need to check is the freezer
make sure is cold enough to store ice-cream or convenient food
(I'm pretty sure you won't want to see melting ice-cream that bought from Baskin Robbins or Haagen-Dazs)

Secondly,
check the door is closed tightly
not it will open itself
(Grghh...not to further mention)

Lastly,
your roommates
You going to live with them for at least one year
Therefore,
you have to choose wisely and be smart to communicate with them very well
If you don't like people who had some bad habits like smoking or others,
better to choose another unit.
To make your life easy
Not to compromise or adapt the culture.

FRIENDLY ADVICE: Please do visit your future room before you pay the deposit and rental, or else you'll be regret.

Here are some photos of comparison
between my previous hostel room (RM 800/ month)
and current hostel room (RM 750/month) respectively.

( 3 photos VS 1 photo??!!)

P.S: The rooms is just the part of the whole comparison, haven't even mention the facilities and services yet.

December To Remember - Toastmasters Meeting (Special Occasion) 2

Second Special Occasion of a year
was the typical
HALLOWEEN!!!

When you heard about Halloween
your mind will think of the costumes,
the graveyard, candies, parties etc.
Originally known as "All Hallows Eve"

I went two Halloween themed TM meetings.
Firstly,
from HELP University TMC
Theme: "HALLOWEEN!"
Date: 26th October 2013

Even though was 5 days before the festival,
the spooky atmosphere had spread in the meeting venue
with the setting of candles, flashlight and also the sound effect
under the dim condition.

The president of  the club officiated the meeting with a wig and mysterious mask.
As the table topic master of the day,
I brought one of my "secret weapon"
which implemented recently in my club
the "GRAB BOX" Table Topics
To make it more relevant,
I "cast a charm" on these 7 objects,
to be more bewitching on the day itself.

The Invisibility Jacket
The Devil's Scissors
Spell book authored by Professor Dumbledore
Life's Controller
Fate Folder
Pen from 2213
Love or Hate Cup

Everyone were having fun about it.
All the sessions had going smooth.
At least the spirit of Halloween was there.

Then,
on the day before Halloween.
I went to another Halloween themed meeting
which is the
Joint Meeting of Taylor's University & IICS Toastmasters Club.\
Theme: "All Hallows Eve"
Date: 30 October 2013

When I first arrived at Taylor's Lakeside Campus,
the darkening sky suits the theme of the meeting,
when the creatures were going to rise to have a FREAK party.

The setting of the venue was just in,
the withered tree,
the barbie doll on the podium,
“GET  OUT” signs etc.

The dress code is Halloween Costume,

at first want to be Cowboy,
(yet realized that my hat had returned to my hometown's house)

So my plan B is to suited up as Doctor
or "Phantom Doctor" perhaps
Other people's costume was freaking scary
which totally hit the theme.

The most favorite costume that I liked was
the "Joker"
that person dressed like him,
and acted like him too
( Professional! )

What I am impressed about is
the speakers' amazing speeches
I learned a lot from them

"Smash & Flash"
"Work Like A Pirate"
"Mistakes"
"Mastering The Toast"

(And I found out that the president of TUTMC, he is HOT when he is dancing. XP)

Anyway,
the sessions are very fun,
most of the people dressed up

and the food was good too.
( I love that Chocolate Cake!!! Mmm, yummy!)

I had the great Halloween themed TM Meetings
to celebrate Halloween.
