If I have the second chance to be ambassador,...

The photo was taken on 18 December 2011.
after been chosen to be an ambassador
for AFS Intercultural Program in Italy

I had tonnes of fun & sweet memories during those 9 weeks.
That moment I really was on cloud nine
That flowing of positive energy that I had from the moment I signed up
till been selected.

3 years later,
while I was surfing on Facebook
I saw an event
named
"THE YOUTH AWARDS"

After I looked through all the T&C,
I was indecisive at first.
Thought of lots of imagination,
best case and worst case.

In the end,
I signed up
because

"If there is another chance for being ambassador, I just felt I MUST get it. Because it must be FUN & LIFETIME."

The moment I decided that I am going to apply it.
Everything just keep popping out from my mind.
Ideas & Fantasy
the same feeling that I had 3 years ago.

Every advance
from preliminary to semi-finals
from semi-finals to finals
When I saw my name on the list,
I felt very excited like I already get it.

In this application route,
I was having fun and expectation.
I didn't know how to express in words
Just your mind will spend some time
to have that daydream/expectation.

I felt blessed because
whenever I need an idea for photo or video
There are several plans that seem reserved
and stand by for using.
It was magical.
(This was taken during having dinner with my friends, and I just had this brilliant idea when the dish was served)

I am grateful that my friends
who were willing to help me
during the "unlocking" period.
In the end,
here I am
FINALS

I need to make a video of myself for this very last round.
This was my first time in history of making video
SPENT the most time
SHOOT the most scene
USE the most elements
EDIT tonnes of times after been review by my friends

The most joyful moment is
when the final video came out,
I was speechless,
really
because I once thought that the activities that I joined in different time frames
now they seem connected together and give me a big clear picture.
Could that be my ultimate passion?

(Still discovering)

Anyway,
it is the last track before the finish line.
I did my very best
and won't felt remorseful
that I made that step.

This is my video submission for finals.
Hope you guys enjoy it
(FIXED)

Billion Ringgit Club - Meet the CEO

Today
I went to Taylor's University Lakeside Campus
to attend an event
 named
"Billion Ringgit Club - Meet the CEO"
by The Edge Malaysia

Basically is a public session for students
Get know the corporate leaders.

The CEO who I had met this morning
was
Mr. Alois Hofbauer
Region Head of Nestlé Malaysia and Singapore.

It was my honor to have a session with him.
He shared with us
the business philosophy of Nestlé

Their core value was
creating shared value

It was almost the same philosophy
that huge corporates will do
to have a
Win-Win Situation
BLUE OCEAN STRATEGY

At the same time,
Nestlé also served the community
throughout the century

One of the projects was
To restore the nature of the ecosystem alongside Sg. Kinabatangan, Sabah
through reforestation.

Also
Nestlé contributed in WHO
to decrease the number of people had
diseases such as Diabetes, High Blood Pressure etc.

As a sum,
it was a great session
I learnt a lot in how to manage a business

in a manner of to serve the community
and have a chance to take a photo
(even though was not perfect, yet good enough for me to cherish)

Music Video Sharing ~ themed Office

Today,
I would like to share with you
two recent music videos
which shared the similar theme
OFFICE

1. Lollipop F ~ 那么厉害

- Released on 2 April 2014.

After about 2 and half years, Lollipop F finally came out their third EP which called "那么厉害". This music video was their title song. This music reflected what were the office workers' life in reality. The dance of roasted chicken that appeared in the chorus and the dish symbolized their performance report/sales report which had the similar pronunciation (考绩).

People will do anything, no matter go or bad, to obtain a good report to impress the manager/director. Because of this unhealthy environment which caused lots of working adults having depression/stress. Some even go for commit suicide.

The main message is to tell that what's the point of having excellent report. Will you get promotion based on that? (Generally yes) Are those make you so extraordinary than others? Or just show that you work harder? Be balanced between work and life, don't care too much of your performance report. If you did well, no need to be too stress.

2. Super Junior-M ~ Swing

(Korean Version)
(Chinese Version)

- Released on 24 March 2014
Dual-language K POP Idol group, SJ-M had come back with their 3rd mini album "Swing". This music video also shown the nature of the office environment, especially when the supervisor was not there. XP
Again, due to the unhealthy competitive environment, the working adults will find anyway to relax and relieve their overload stress. It can be through eating, singing, dancing, or even do some pranks to their coworkers. We should SWING away the unhealthy stress and unhappiness and enjoy our career.

WORK SMART, INSTEAD OF WORK HARD
WE SHOULD WORK TO LEARN, NOT TO EARN
WORK WITH THINGS THAT YOU'RE PASSIONATE.

Time = Money ???

"Time is Money" is written by Benjamin Franklin, in the 18th Century.
There is also a Chinese Idiom said:
"An ounce of time is like an ounce of gold, yet an ounce of gold can't purchase an ounce of time"
一寸光阴一寸金,寸金难买寸光阴

also means time equals money.

Both phrases is to advice people to cherish every moment of your time as care as your money. Because in the past, not much people have money. People had to work hard for money. They had to exchange their time for a few notes, so that they can survive for ONE MORE DAY.

Now, we're all in 21st Century, where lots of people had upgraded to middle class. We're so blessed that our family are resourceful and no worries about survival. Therefore, our aim switched from SURVIVAL TO LIVING. Because it is resourceful, some of us dare to wastes tonnes money and time, for video games, Starbucks, movies, accessories, dating etc.

Here comes the irony part, if we wasted money, we can earn it back in the future, right? What about time? If we wasted a few hours, can we earn/borrow/exchange it back?

Here are the differences between time and money

1) Money can be earn, whereas time cannot.
2) Thief can steal your money, but he cannot steal your time.
3) Government can control the money flow, but they cannot control time
4) Fixed deposit of money have interests, yet fixed deposit of time haven't.
5) Money flow is visible, time flow is invisible
6) Money is like a capitalist, time is like a socialist
7) Money is invented, time cannot be invented
8) You can grow your money, you cannot grow your time.

There are also other differences. To cut it short, if you wasted a single second, it just gone away back to the black hole and say "Goodbye" to you. Why everyone had 24 hours per day, yet there are only a few who are successful? Because they value their time, more than they value the money. The power of money is limited, yet the power of time is unlimited and invincible.

Same goes to your study, is it worthy to exchange your time for a few As? Or you want to exchange you time for learning new knowledge and have fun?

Do allocate your time well.
TIME IS BIGGER THAN MONEY.

What will college student eat? - Salute Dining and Wine @ SS15

Last Wednesday,
right after my club's election.
Desmond, Amanda, Christopher and I
went to this restaurant
for dinner
(or some of sort pre-celebration for both of them being EXCOs)

Salute
Dining & Wine

In Italy, they said the word "Salute" to have a toast of wine.
It sounds fancy
and it looks fancy too

It just my class seldom to have a meal there,
we just passing by almost everyday.
Because when we went there,
was around 6 p.m.
The sky started to become dark.
The whole place
was filled with
warm and romantic
atmosphere

Another fusion between bar and cashier.
You can actually sit there for a coffee
or a meal.

If you want to have a candlelight dinner, this is the right place that you should come with you love one.

I ordered their meal promotion while others take the weekly special.

I had
Pasta with White Creamy Sauce, Parmesan cheese and Pan Fried Salmon ~ RM13

I actually forgot the name
(my apology)
Along with Ice Lemon Tea
Comment: One of my preferences is Italian cuisine. I had ate lots of pasta, this is one of few restaurants that actually added the Parmesan cheese in it. Because it was the cheese that added some savory into the dish as the sauce is milky and some sweetness on it. The salmon, was a bit dry. I felt a bit overcooked (I am not a very pro food critics) However, the seasoning was fine with it. It still tastes good as a whole.

Rating: 7/10

Even though tax is included, I saw on the board that there was student discount about 10%.

Because the environment was so nice,
it is also another place
for friends gathering
and have a heart-to-heart talk

or
for bloggers to have some inspiration and blog
under such scenario.

Another place had been spotted
by KMENT
Will bring you more dining places
that you can go for it
in the future

What wil college student eat? - Rendezvous Corner

Here used to be called as
"Salmon Steak"
After a restaurant makeover,
now they be known as
"Rendezvous Corner"

The layout was totally different as last time,
No more TV,
No cushion chairs

What I saw was
lots of giant group dining tables
with some separation

also there are dessert counter
right besides the cashier

They even transformed the outside of the restaurant
There are swing dining tables and also picnic table,
one of the significant items from Salmon Steak.
Although most of my classmates missed the Ramli Burger Stall that used to be here.
(If you went to Salmon Steak before, you will recognize those pictures at the corner.)

We had seen lots of changes of the restaurant,
let's see the new menus from RC.

In my first visit, I ordered

Bologna Spaghetti with Chicken Chop ~ ( RM6.80 )*

Comment: I never ordered any pasta dish in Salmon Steak. Therefore, I cannot compare with the previous one. However, the texture of that chicken chop was better than last time. It was not too heavy and it was crispy enough. The sauce is pretty typical as this is the fundamental for a bologna spaghetti. It was sweet and there were some carrot dices if not mistaken. The sauce is given more than last time. Just this time no free drink for lunch menu.

Rating: 7/10

The other day
my friend and I had another visit.
It was weekend,
no lunch menu.
I decided to ordered something not on the lunch menu.

Lemon Fish and Chips~ (around RM 13)*

Comment: I like to eat a whole big piece of fish and with a piece of lemon which is optional for people to add on the fish. The fish was cooked pretty well, there was still moisture there. It tasted even better when it served with lemon juice. I did enjoy the acidity, although bit covered other seasonings on the fish. The chips is normal, first time having french fries in RC. Just the plate looks bit empty.

Rating: 6/10

The only thing that I disliked
was
they had service tax now.
Which never happened previously.

Also heard some of reviews from my friends
who visited before that
there were some dishes are not eatable.

At least,
there are something dishes you may want to have
which were the Cheese Fondue
or
Escargot (snail dish)

To summarize up,
the old "Salmon Steak" had gone,
and the new "Rendezvous Corner" had come.
It looks fancier,
there were more selection of dessert
and some dishes that we didn't see before.

Another fine place to fill up your tummy :)
