Toastmasters Club

What is your first impression about this club?

" Does this club for making toasts?"

( That's mine before I joined this club.)

Basically,
toastmasters club is like a public speaking club

which able to help you in
improving your public speaking skill
leadership skill
communication skill
also gain confident

Few days ago,
I attended the first meeting of Toastmasters Club
"It was quite fun!!!"

You can see how those speaker express their speeches

sometimes have jokes in the middle
you can even heard extra information
which is not in the textbooks or internet

Of  course,
NOT just speak in front of the audiences
There are evaluators who will examine your speech
 and give suggestions to improve

One of the evaluators which I am kinda suprised is
THE "AH" COUNTER
My friend said that the Ah counter
is to count
every single improper words and pauses
that spoke by the speakers

"Hah, like that one ah. Then surely dead liao lo."
(There is 1 "hah", 1 "ah", 1 "liao" and 1 "lo" in this sentence.)
Something like that

In my opinion,
once you joined this club
and spoke frequently during meetings
you assent will totally change
and to be a formal Englishman.

"OMG, their pronunciations are the exact ones!!"

Lastly,
people who are in this club are very friendly
and they are the good listener
even though you are shaking or stand like a statue in front of them

(Why sounds like me will be like that? XP)

Life before University ---> **College**

Since 14 January 2013,
I have been at Taylor's College almost a month now....
At this point,
I am satisfied about whats and where that I live recently.

There are huge differences between college and our secondary school :

NO. 1: In college, the timetable is VERY FLEXIBLE~~~

( That's my timetable...Yeah, there is one day I'm going to study until 4 p.m. XD...Got about one hour for each lesson and breaks etc.)

NO. 2: You are FREELY TO SPEAK OUT YOUR OPINION & IDEA .......

It is YOUR TURN
to tell the lecturer what do you think about the topic
It is the TIME
that you should speak out your doubt
And it is the OPPORTUNITY
to develop your independent learning skill & public speaking skill

NO. 3:  NO MORE "DAD / MOM, I WANT...."

Here
if you want something ,
you should go get by yourself.
Even though the college may be near your house
yet one day,
you have to leave from you birthplace
to somewhere for your next stage of life

NO. 4: You have to be WISE IN FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

Well
it depends on the place where you are studying
for me
my location will make my wallet bleeds a lot
I will suggests you one apps
to reduce this problem
that is "T2Expense "
you can record any transactions that you have made and create your own budget

NO. 5 : SOCIALIZING IS THE KEY FOR SUCCESS IN YOUR COLLEGE LIFE

No man is an island
we are in one huge community
If you went somewhere which no one knows you,
be active to communicate with others
If schoolmates,
more keep in touch with them
If enemies,
try to restart the relationship....


Lastly,
time is irreversible...
I am now at the next stage of my life...
NEW SCHOOL, NEW LECTURERS,
NEW CLASSMATES, NEW FRIENDS
Don't be afraid for your future...
Just keep moving forward..
then you will know when it is the time....XD
